Since AMOLED is self-luminous, it is not possible to inject liquid crystal into glass like TFT-LCD, but to inject AMOLED luminescent material into AMOLED by evaporation or printing. AMOLED printing process has also made great progress. Relatively mature is Samsung's production method of vapor deposition. In order to improve the AMOLED evaporation yield, Samsung has adopted various PenTile to produce.
So how does PenTile improve the yield? For example, the FHD resolution is 1920x1080. With PenTile, you only need to make a resolution of 1920 * 720, so that users can see the effect of 1920 * 1080. Then there are also disadvantages. After all, some pixels are sacrificed. Under special patterns, there will be display distortion problems, but natural pictures, artificially taken pictures, generally will not find such distortion.
The industry generally believes that AMOLED saves more power than TFT LCD screens. Through testing AMOLED and IPS two different materials, it is obvious that AMOLED shows the most power saving when displaying black, followed by green, and the most power-consuming color is white. The long-term display of the three colors of models using IPS screens has no substantial impact on power consumption. So it is not difficult to see that using a dark background or desktop can save the screen for AMOLED screens, and the effect is indeed very obvious, but for IPS screens, because of the display structure and mode, using a dark background to save power Not true. However, the brightness of the AMOLED panel is dimmed, and the yellowing of the AMOLED color is a problem. Therefore, it can be said that AMOLED technology has yet to mature.
At present, TFT LCD screens occupy an absolute market position and are widely used in the fields of monitors, computers, TVs and mobile phone screens. The technology is very mature and is constantly being updated and improved. As for the AMOLED panel, the price is relatively expensive, but as the output of panel manufacturers increases, the price will gradually decrease. Because AMOLED is thinner, many mobile phone manufacturers currently want to use AMOLED panels. In the next 2-3 years, there will be more and more branded mobile phones using AMOLED. Compared with the TFT-LCD screen, the journey of AMOLED has just begun.
