DSTN is double-layer STN, which was mainly used in some notebook computers in the past. It solves the problem of drift in traditional STN display, and the display effect is greatly improved compared to STN. Since DSTN scans both the upper and lower screens simultaneously, a bright line may appear in the center of the display during use.
DSTN LCD cannot be regarded as a true color display, because the brightness and contrast of each pixel on the screen cannot be controlled independently. It can only display the depth of the color, which is far from the color of traditional CRT displays, so it is also called pseudo Color display. It is usually used in places where the display requirements are not high.
