Power consumption of lcd display and its disadvantages

Color adjustment of liquid crystal display. This is because the color adjustment of LCD should take into account the attributes of environmental light source and liquid crystal display, coupled with the narrow visual angle of liquid crystal display, it is very difficult to adjust the best viewing angle and color correctness at the same time. At present, there is no color adjustment software specially designed for desktop LCD, but it is believed that more manufacturers will pay attention to LCD color adjustment in the future.

The active matrix LCD display has a smaller electric power than the CRT. In fact, it has become a standard display for portable devices that are widely used from PDAs to laptops. But the efficiency of the LCD technology is too low: even if you display white, less than 10% of the light emitted from the background light source passes through the screen, and everything else is absorbed. Therefore, the current power consumption of the novel plasma display screen is lower than that of the same area liquid crystal display screen. PDA, such as Palm and Compaq iPAQ, often use a reflective display.

This means that ambient light is emitted into the display screen, through the polarized liquid crystal layer, the collision reflective layer, and then reflected to the image. It is estimated that 84% of the light is absorbed in this process, so only one-sixth of the light functions, although still to be improved, sufficient to provide the contrast required for the visual image. A one-way reflection and reflection display screen makes it possible to use an LCD display screen at a minimum of energy under different illumination conditions.
