Every test items shall meet the following criteria. Judgment should be made only after the LCD is exposed to room temperature for 4 hours.

Criteria of judgment:

(1) All segments shall be usually displayed

(2) All segments should not be blurred

(3) Current consumption should not exceed the double of its original value

6.2 Active length of life :Longer than 50,000 hours at room temperature without direct irradiation of sun light ,no obvious inferior affection to the function,

efficiency and appearance.

7.Cosmetic inspection criterion

7.1 Inspecting condition

7.1.1 The LCD should be inspected under 20W×2 or 40W×1 natural light lamp. The distance between the light source and the LCD should be 100cm and the inspector should be at 30cm from the LCD. During the visual inspection of the LCD, the viewing direction should be about 45° from the normal.

7.1.1 During the inspection of transmissive, negative and black mask LCD, a backlight or a reflector at the back side of LCD is required.

7.1.2 All the dimension, including length, height, thickness of LCDs, end sealing size, pins length …etc, must be measured using a caliper with a minimum accuracy of 0.02mm.

7.1.3 The electrical test should be conducted with a specialized testing board and emulator.

7.1.4The reliability test should be conducted with a specialized oven, chiller, boiler, and other environmental test equipment.

7.2 Definition of zone

A area: Active display area (viewing area)

B area: Non-active display area (outside V.A.)
