In 2019, the Chinese-led television market will decline for the first time in the past eight years. The ihs markit is expected to sell more than 160,000 television sales this year, with a total of 10,000 fewer than 170,000 in 2018.
The recession in the China-led television market in 2019 caused the lgd to be under pressure, as the lgd Guangzhou 8.5-generation production line was just in production at the end of August, and the oled panel needed more access to the sea.
But the lgd pressure may be reduced since 2020, as more and more television makers have announced the entry of the oled television camp, and both the millet and the Sharp have announced their entry into the oled television market, starting with a rapid growth in the Chinese-led television market by 2020. The ihs markit is expected to rise rapidly to 455,000 next year, up to 693,000 by 2021 and 1,308,000 in 2022.
Not only in China, but also in other Asian countries, including South Korea and Japan, the sales of oled television will also spike. The sales of oled TV in the region will grow from 927,000 in this year to 1,585,000 in 2020, 2,107,000 in 2021 and 3,609,000 in 2023.
And Samsung's plan to start a quantum dot (qd) display in 2021 will also accelerate the transformation of the television market. The lcd age is expected to be drawn to a period of 30 years.
China's accession will bring changes to the global television market, led by Samsung and lg. In the oled market, lg is the leader and its market share reached 59.2 per cent in the first half of this year.
"In a short period of time, China's liquid-crystal display market goes beyond South Korea, and this radical strategy will also accelerate the decline of the lcd panel," one industry said.
